We’re then driving through the Ziz valley to Erfoud, a haven city known as “the gate to the Sahara desert” and famous for its plenty fossils. There, we’ll take the chance to visit a local factory producing goods out of fossils – you’ll be able to pick up some souvenirs in the designated shop !

Our journey proceeds to Rissani, where we’ll visit the local Suq, a traditional Moroccan market. From there, we’ll drive to the Merzouga desert. Having arrived at a checkpoint, we’ll trade in our 4×4 for camels and ride above the dunes, being guided by experienced camel herdsmen. Our destination is a desert camp promising an unforgettable night with delicious meals, Berber music, a warming campfire and the star-filled sky above us.

Day 4 : Merzouga desert

The whole third day is dedicated to explore the Merzouga desert. You’ll be free to choose your way transportation, either authentically riding on camels or choosing the comfort of a 4×4. On this day, we’ll visit the Khamlia village which is famous for its traditional music–and
